KeryFlex™ Nails

What is KeryFlex™?

KeryFlex™ is a nail restoration system that uses polymer resins and special activators to create a durable, yet flexible artificial nail when exposed to a certain frequency of ultraviolet light.  KeryFlex™ is not an acrylic nail like what is commonly used in nail salons.  It is a non-porous polymer that allows the natural nail to regrow and is also flexible (unlike acrylic nails) which means it will not be as likely to “pop” off.  It is also custom sculpted to the patient’s toe, to give a more natural look – also unlike acrylic nails found in nail salons.  It is not a pre-made nail, but rather a system that allows the technician to sculp a nail out of a special type of resin.

How long does it take to apply KeryFlex™?

On average, in experienced hands, a technician can complete the application of KeryFlex™ Bond, KeryFlex™ Resin, and KeryFlex™ Seal, with curing time included, in 25-30 minutes for the great toenail.  If more nails are being treated, allow more time for your visit.

After Keryflex™ is applied, how soon must I return for another application?

The interval between applications will vary according to the patient, but in general, the time between applications is six to eight weeks.

Benefits of Keryflex™ System:

  • Doesn’t irritate the skin
  • Only sticks to the callous cells of the nail or the papillary roots
  • Will not bond to the skin, allowing a natural edge to be sculpted
  • Allows patients to use antimicrobial solutions to treat fungal infections
  • Provides for cosmetically pleasing nails during oral antifungal therapy
  • The Keryflex™ nail is durable, flexible and moves with the foot
