In addition to our medical services, our offices offer an inventory of specialty footwear.  We offer shoes designed to assist with diabetic footcare, as well as sandals with specialty insoles and extra-depth tennis shoes for patients wearing orthotics.

Medicare’s Therapeutic Shoe Bill


In an effort to reduce the number of diabetic amputations, Medicare Part B allows coverage for special footware and inserts for patients who have diabetes and meet certain coverage criteria.

While many companies provide diabetic shoes, we feel it important that a patient be properly fitted for the shoes by a “hands on” expert.  Receiving shoes in the mail from a diabetic supply company does not meet our stringent quality standards, so we encourage our patients to allow us to provide their shoes.  We have personalized, hands on service, and we will make certain that the shoes fit and are appropriate for your foot type.

We have a large variety of shoes from which to choose, and we have sizing shoes in stock so we can best determine the right size.

What is covered?

Coverage is limited to one of the following within a calendar year (January – December):

  • 1 pair of off-the-shelf depth shoes and up to 3 additional pair of multi-density inserts – heat molded to conform to the foot.
  • 1 pair of off-the-shelf depth shoes including a modification, and up to 2 additional pair of multi-density inserts. (Modification could be something like a rocker bottom)
  • 1 pair of custom-molded shoes and up to 2 additional pair of multi-density inserts.


Coverage is limited to shoes and inserts meeting certain requirements for patients with specific clinical conditions.
